YNAB CSV from a bank statement
OwnFi exports a YNAB-format CSV from any bank statement: import the PDF or CSV your bank sent, then choose the YNAB preset in Export to get Date, Payee, Memo, Outflow and Inflow columns that YNAB's file-based import accepts as they are.
It replaces the converter scripts and web tools people use when direct import fails: no command line, no upload, and password-protected statements work too.

bank2ynab and ynab-buddy are open-source projects that convert CSV files on a computer; OwnFi is not affiliated with them or with YNAB.
How it works
- Import the statement
PDF or CSV, shared from your bank's app or opened from Files. OwnFi parses it on the phone.
- Export with the YNAB preset
Settings → Export → YNAB CSV. Outflow and Inflow are both positive, dates are ISO, and the category lands in Memo so nothing is lost.
- File-based import in YNAB
Open the account in YNAB on the web, choose Import, and pick the file. YNAB matches duplicates against anything already there.
Questions
Does OwnFi replace YNAB?
It can, but it does not have to. Many people keep YNAB for the method and use OwnFi as the private importer.
Which column order does the export use?
Date, Payee, Memo, Outflow, Inflow: the five columns YNAB's importer documents.
What about credit card refunds?
Credits go to Inflow, debits to Outflow, both as positive numbers, which is how YNAB expects them.
Is the statement uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and export happen on the phone; the file goes wherever you share it.
