Expense tracker for iPhone in India
OwnFi is a free expense tracker that works on iPhone in India without SMS access: it imports password-protected SBI, HDFC, ICICI and Axis statement PDFs, PhonePe and Google Pay statements, and UPI or passbook screenshots, then builds categories, recurring payments and a daily safe-to-spend number on the phone.
Trackers like axio rely on reading SMS, which iOS does not allow, so they are Android-only in practice. Statements and screenshots are the iPhone path, and they never leave the device.

From the bank app or Mail, share the PDF to OwnFi. Enter the password the bank sent; it is used once and never stored.

Questions
Why can't iPhone trackers read SMS?
iOS gives no app access to SMS or to other apps' notifications. Any tracker that promises automatic capture on iPhone is either reading a statement, an email, or nothing.
Does OwnFi need my bank login?
No. It never connects to a bank.
Which formats parse?
SBI, HDFC, ICICI and Axis PDFs, PhonePe and Google Pay statements, CDSL and KFintech CAS files, Zerodha and Angel One spreadsheets, and any CSV once you confirm the columns.
Does it handle rupees and the Indian fiscal year?
Yes. INR formatting with lakh separators, day-first dates, and a tax-year export from 1 April.
What does it cost?
